a little background

I'm starting this blog to chronicle my weight loss efforts.  I've been over weight for most of the past 27 years.  I've lost and gained too many times to count.  It's time to do something about my health and fitness for good!  My oldest daughter got married this past March and they are talking about starting a family in the next couple of years and I want to be ready to play with my future grandchildren!

I am 47 years old and am about 80 pounds over weight.  I am a diabetic and my sugar is poorly controlled.  I eat too much and move too little.  I have spent my life taking care of everyone but myself.  I know that needs to change if I am going to improve my health.  No better time than the present!
